The Wisdom Tooth Extraction Process

The wisdom tooth extraction process is relatively straightforward, even when multiple wisdom teeth need to be extracted. After the mouth is numbed (sedation dentistry is also often used), if the teeth have emerged above the gumline, they can be carefully removed with special forceps. If they’re still beneath the gums, small openings can be made to access them, and from there, they’re often removed in small pieces to make things easier. Patients will need to endure a brief healing period following the procedure.
