Advanced Dental Technology Encinitas
Staying Ahead of the Dental Technology Curve

Technology is becoming a bigger part of dentistry with each passing day, and at our Encinitas office, we’re thrilled to stay up-to-date with all of the latest dental instruments, techniques, and information needed to care for your smile. To learn a little more about some of the technology we’ll be using to perform a wide range of services, just keep reading below.
CT/Cone Beam Scanner

Our CT/cone beam scanner allows for detailed, 3D imaging of the teeth, jaws, and surrounding structures. This advanced diagnostic tool helps our team plan all kinds of treatments, including dental implant placement, with far greater accuracy and more predictable results, as well as improved patient safety.
Airflow Air Polishing

Airflow air polishing is a gentle, effective technology used to remove plaque, stains, and bacteria from teeth and gums. Using a controlled stream of air, water, and fine powder, this advanced system doesn’t just provide a more detailed cleaning, but also a more comfortable experience for patients—and many of our Encinitas patients actually love how it feels! Plus, by lowering the level of present bacteria, certain risk factors for disease, such as heart disease, Alzheimer's, etc., are also lowered!
OralDNA® Salivary Testing

OralDNA salivary testing uses advanced technology to identify harmful bacteria linked to gum disease using a simple saliva sample. This innovative diagnostic tool allows our team to better understand your oral health and the extent of your gum disease, which in turn lets us highly personalize your treatment plan and proactively handle other gum issues that might come up down the road.
Intraoral Camera

Our intraoral camera gives us a close-up, real-time view of your teeth and gums, which allows us to detect concerns that may not always be visible during an eye exam. This technology also helps our patients better understand their oral health, since they can clearly see everything we see on a nearby monitor.
Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays provide ultra-clear, high-quality images while using significantly less radiation than traditional X-rays. However, the best part about this advanced technology is that it allows our team to detect issues much earlier, plan treatment more efficiently, and monitor your ongoing oral health with greater accuracy.
Digital Impression System

Our digital impression system replaces traditional molds (which patients often find unpleasant) with a fast, comfortable, and highly accurate scanning process. Using advanced imaging technology, we capture precise, 3D models of your teeth and bite, which we can then use when planning restorations such as crowns or bridges.
Laser Dentistry

Laser dentistry allows for precise, minimally invasive dental treatments with reduced discomfort and faster healing times. Lasers can be used for a variety of procedures, but most commonly, they’re used to assist with periodontal (gum) disease treatment. This advanced approach usually eliminates the need for sutures, and since the laser cauterizes as it works, there is a much lower risk of infection in addition to quicker, more pleasant recovery.
